"Not Born To Drown"
Oil on Canvas
60" x 48"
$2,880
"Is there…
Is there anybody out there? Is there a better world out there? A world where hate and violence aren’t our best ideas?
A world where needless cruelty is an experience no one has to endure.
A world where we want to be kind to each other…we want to lend a helping hand. Community is felt everywhere around the world. No matter your birth place, body type, color, gender, bank account, or path…we help one another. For we are all seeking the same thing…happiness.
A world where we don’t have to experience fear most of our lives. We respect each other…and our differences. Because we are not clones or robots, but unique and proud of it.
A world where the word family is defined not by DNA, but by those that truly care. Making this world, one family. For we all care. I am not perfect and neither are you. And we both know that. Mistakes happen and understanding and forgiveness is welcomed. Instead of tearing down, we teach, we listen, we help each other evolve. Because we know that if those around us are happy and healthy, then we will be too. Instead of crushing, we find ways to work together. For two minds are better than one.
We treasure the land that gives us life, because…what if your wrong? Finding ways to work with nature has made living a little easier for everyone, for the cost of living has just gone down.
We understand that a good education for everyone means a better and happier world for all. So why not?
We embrace new ideas.
We love new ideas.
We are open to new ideas.
Because new ideas means the possibility of evolving into something even better than before.
Is there…
Is there anybody out there? Is there a better world out there?
Oh, how I hope so…"

"Finding Peace"
Oil on Canvas
60" x 48"

"I forgive myself.
I forgive myself for not understanding,
for the mistakes I’ve made in the past,
for not having all the answers,
for making the wrong decisions,
for being impatient,
for letting anger and fear get the best of me,
and feeling subdued.
I forgive myself for failing,
for giving up,
for taking too much,
for not giving compassion and kindness where it was due,
for not thinking before speaking,
for being too pushy,
for letting my ego get out of control,
for being judgmental, mean, and rude.
I forgive myself for not learning the first time around,
and the second,
for not knowing better,
for not making better decisions,
for not being courageous, strong, and in a good mood.
I forgive myself,
for I am not perfect.
I did not know much as a child.
I did not know it all when I turned 18, 30, and 45.
But I do know more now as time has accrued.
So, I forgive myself because I have made many mistakes,
and as the saying goes,
“If only I would’ve known then what I know now.”
But I didn’t, and today I do.
I can’t change the past, but I can use it as a tool in order to create a better future.
But first, I must forgive myself.
How about you?"

"Without air, we suffocate.
Without water, we dehydrate.
Without food, we starve.

Together they, inspire life.
Minus one, and we cease to exist."

"I am . . ."
Oil, marker, modeling paste on Canvas
60" x 48"
$2,880
"I feel like I’m being swallowed whole.
Part of me wants to…
…just let go.
I’m so tired.
Aren’t we all so tired of this battle?
Tired...
Tired of wishing on a star.
Tired of picking myself up…pushing myself.
Tired of not being understood.
Tired of climbing.
Tired.
I’m ready to drift off…
…drift off into the unknown.
Aren’t we all so tired?
Sorry, old habits die hard.
I know, I’m practicing. I’m learning. I’m starting over and going within again…
but I need some boundaries right now.
Let go. Let…go.
I need to trust myself. Listen to my intuition and be patient. I am understanding, compassionate, and wise.
Evolve, have fun, be adventurous and grateful. Thank you.
Remember I am a work in progress.
I am unique, creative, and carefree.
Starting to feel overwhelmed, and scared.
*breath* The fear is suffocating.
Focus. Breathe. Focus.
Stay calm.
Okay, let’s begin again.
I’m walking my own path.
I am creating my own life.
I am healing and moving forward.
I’m breaking free of thought patterns that don’t make sense to me. Breaking free from beliefs that promote hate.
I am breaking free from titles that I did not choose.
I am breaking free from suffering and your pain.
*breathe* I am finding my authentic self and choosing who I want to be.
*breathe* I am letting go.
I forgive myself, and I forgive you.
I am letting go.
I am picking myself back up.
I will succeed.
I will reach my dreams.
I can do this."

"A Different Perspective"
Oil on Canvas
48" x 60"
$2,880
"Millions of years ago, humans knew little about the earth they lived on and its surroundings. We knew nothing of the ground below us, or what earth was made of. And we knew nothing of the skies above us. For we did not have the ability to fly or go into space. We did not have the technology to be able to explore and analyze the matter around us.
Millions of years ago, was our consciousness, in its early stages, perhaps? We lived in caves and huts and hunted daily for our food. Each day working to stay alive and just survive. Our mindset was not much more evolved from the animals that walked with us on these lands. But as the years went on, new thoughts and ideas began to appear in our consciousness, slowly evolving in order to find a better way to live life. What we did not understand or misinterpreted millions of years ago, today, can be looked at from a different perspective."

"Freefall"
Oil & Acrylic on Canvas
40" x 30"
$1,200
"Have you ever just wanted to freefall? Say screw it and freefall into the unknown? The thought of it scares the shit out of me, but the freedom in it…sounds exhilarating. In that moment I am completely free. No judgements, no expectations, no hate, no worries. Just me. Me becoming one with who I am and who I want to be. If this is the end so be it. I will cross my fingers and hope for the next place I see to be a better world.
A world where all feel safe. A world where fear and hate is at an all-time low. A world where we understand each other. A world where we are allowed to be different. A world where we respect each other and our uniqueness. A world where new ideas, the imagination, and evolving are always welcome."

"Who Are you?"
Oil & Acrylic on Canvas
36" x 24"
$864
"Titles. Their purpose…to help us understand one another.
But a title is just a word, made up of letters, from an alphabet, that humans created, in order to communicate easier with each other.
Whether my hair is long or short, blue or blonde, whether I decide to wear pants or a skirt, whether I have a petite voice or a loud voice, sport colors on my finger nails, shave my legs or not, like the color pink or blue, whether I become a nurse or a doctor, wear makeup or not, like a woman or a man….whether I show my emotions or I don’t does not identify my gender.
With each new day, change occurs, and I learn more about myself and this life. As my consciousness evolves, learns more, my physical features and perceptions may also change, because I see the world differently today than what I did in my twenties and thirties. As I find my authentic self, I like it, and make the decision to embrace it. My book cover is an expression of my unique consciousness.
Hello, I identify as human. My consciousness is unique, like everyone else’s, and it is living in a fair skinned body in this life, with the biological features of a volva, vagina and uterus, but I am Nikki, and Chey when in game. A human who has a partner of the opposite sex, doesn’t want human children, who has short hair, loves wearing baggy pants, getting tattoos, meditating, designing, playing video games, playing hockey, writing, learning, exploring, painting, watching rom-coms, and being with friends. And today my favorite colors are teal, magenta, and mustard."

"Why do we hate? Pain and Suffering.
But what does that create? What does it change?
All I see is fear, and more hate, judgement, pain, suffering, fear, hate, judgement, pain, suffering, fear...the never ending cycle that only breeds more...Hate.
When are we going to break free from our pain? What’s the definition of insane? When will we see the pattern and the damage it creates?
Praise one minute and judge the next. Hate is the answer? Is that what it says? Maybe you should read it once more. For I thought he said compassion and kindness when he was standing on that shore.
So why do we hate? Why do we judge? They don’t look like me. They don’t act like me. They don’t live like me. Well, then cast your first stone, and get yourself a clone,
because I am not one.
Why must I think like you? Why must I have the same beliefs as you? Why must I look like you? Why must I live like you? Is there not more than one way to eat an apple? Is there not more than one road to get me to my destination? Me being different does not mean you have to be the same. It does not mean your choices are wrong...
But instead maybe the answer is D, all of the above.
History defined the world when it was still learning how to walk. Have we not evolved? Caves to houses; horses to cars; rotten food to refrigerators? Then why stop now.
Why not explore a new idea? Why not explore why we hate?
Why not explore why being different is so wrong?
How do you feel when someone hates you? What has their hate created? Revenge, fear, anger, sadness, and more hate. What has our hate created?
A better world it is not.
You’re right, I am different, I am unique. Along with beautiful, strong, and I will dream. Different shouldn’t equal hate. Different is our human right."
